What stage does FutureX Capital invest at?
FutureX Capital invests from angel to pre-IPO across the US and China, spanning five layers of the AI stack: applications, models, infrastructure, chips and energy.
FutureX Capital invests from angel to pre-IPO, in both US dollars and RMB. Its sectors cover foundation models and developer infrastructure, semiconductors and next-generation compute, intelligent applications, robotics and embodied intelligence, and the industrial and energy technologies being reshaped by AI. It looks at the model, distribution, chip and application layers together, because when one layer moves, the rest reprice.
ByteDance shows the range of stages: FutureX invested in five consecutive rounds from 2018 through 2025, starting in a year when short video going global was not yet consensus (confirmed, see /about).
Beyond stage, FutureX watches the window. Its read is that each sector opens a 12 to 18 month window after capability crosses a threshold and before enterprise money floods in. Software development entered that window in 2024, robotics and logistics in 2025 to 2026, and healthcare, finance and manufacturing in 2026 to 2027. In embodied AI, FutureX backs dexterous hands and data, such as Dexmate and World Engine, and stays out of the full-body arms race.
Healthcare is entering its window on schedule. At its 20,000-person user meeting on August 17 to 20, 2026, Epic launched Agent Factory with 120-plus prebuilt agents ahead of a 2027 general release (confirmed).
